Now this is the story all about how,
My life got flipped, turned upside down,
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there,
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air.
In West Philadelphia I was born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days.
Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin all cool,
And all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school.
When a couple of guys who were up to no good,
Started makin' trouble in my neighborhood.
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared,
And said "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air."
I whistled for a cab, and when it came near,
The license plate said "fresh" and it had dice in the mirror.
If anything I could say that this cat was rare,
But I thought "Nah forget it, Yo home to Bel-Air."
I pulled up to the house about seven or eight,
And I yelled to the cabby "Yo homes, smell ya later."
Looked at my kingdom, I was finally there,
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air.

Je suis né et ai grandi dans l'Ouest de Philadelphie
Je passais la plupart de mes journées sur le terrain de jeux
Nous nous amusions dehors, gentiment, c'était très cool
Et chaque fois nous lancions des ballons de basket en dehors de la cour
Quand quelques garçons, dont la vie n'attendait rien de bien
Ont commencé à semer le trouble dans le voisinage
J'ai été mêlé à une bataille et ma mère s'est effrayée
Et elle a dit: "Ça y est, tu déménages avec ton oncle et tatie à Bel-Air."
J'ai sifflé un taxi, et quand il s'est approché
Sur la licence était marqué "fresh" et il y avait des dés suspendus au miroir
Si je peux dire quelque chose, ce taxi me paraissait étrange
Mais je me suis dit "Nah oublie ça, Yo à la maison, à Bel-Air."
Je suis arrivé à la maison vers 7 ou 8h
Et j'ai crié au taxi "Yo mec, à plus tard."
Regardez-moi ce château, j'y étais finallement
Pour m'asseoir sur le trône, en tant que Prince de Bel-Air.
